A group of artists who gathered in the North Yorkshire fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick, drawn by well-established painters Foster, Jackson and Senior. In 1897, Harold Knight and his wife-to-be, Laura Johnson joined. The inaugural 1901 Staithes Group show was held in the local Fishermen's Institute.
